AI math solver
Math, solved
with the middle shown.
A calculator gives you a number. A math solver worth installing gives you the line you were missing. Select an expression on the page or snap a printed equation, and Solvecoon returns the answer with the algebra that produced it.

How it works
Grab the problem
Highlight typed math, or snap it if it is an image, a graph, or handwriting on a scan.
Get answer plus working
Result first, then the steps, in the order a teacher would want them written.
Ask about the step you missed
Pro follow-ups let you ask why a specific line is allowed, or for a similar problem to try.
What it handles
Arithmetic and fractions
Order of operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and unit conversion.
Algebra
Linear and quadratic equations, systems, inequalities, factoring, and simplifying expressions.
Geometry and trig
Area, volume, angle chasing, similar triangles, the unit circle, and trig identities.
Calculus
Limits, derivatives with the chain and product rules, integrals, and optimization set-ups.
Probability and statistics
Counting, dependent and independent events, distributions, mean, median, and spread.
Word problems
The English-to-equation translation is shown as its own step, since that is the hard part.
A real one, worked out
This is the shape of every answer: the result first, then the reasoning that got there.
Question
Simplify: (3x^2 y)^3 / (9x^4 y)
Answer
3x^2 y^2
Steps
- 1Cube every factor in the numerator: (3x^2 y)^3 = 27 x^6 y^3.
- 2Write the division as one fraction: 27 x^6 y^3 / (9 x^4 y).
- 3Divide the coefficients: 27 / 9 = 3.
- 4Subtract exponents on x: x^(6-4) = x^2.
- 5Subtract exponents on y: y^(3-1) = y^2.
- 6Result: 3 x^2 y^2.
The cube applies to the 3 as well as the variables. Forgetting to cube the coefficient turns 27 into 3 and the whole answer with it.

What it will not do
- It will not be used on a graded quiz, an exam, or a proctored test.
- It will not read a formula that is half outside your selection box.
- It will not always match your course's preferred notation. Ask it to redo the working in your notation.
- It will not replace practice. Reading a solution and producing one are different skills.
Solvecoon is a study aid, not an answer machine. Exams, graded quizzes, and proctored tests are off limits — see the acceptable use policy.
Questions people ask
- Does it show the steps or just the answer?
- Both, always, in that order. The answer block comes first so you can check yourself quickly, and the steps sit underneath it.
- Can it read a photo of handwritten math?
- Usually, if the handwriting is legible and the whole expression is inside the box you dragged. When it is not sure what a symbol is, it says so rather than guessing.
- How advanced does it go?
- Comfortably through single-variable calculus, linear algebra basics, and introductory statistics. Very advanced proof-based work is where it starts to be a study partner rather than a solver.
- Is there a free version?
- Yes, five solves every day with the steps included, no card required.
