Homework help,
on the page you are on.

Most homework helpers make you retype the question into a chat box. Solvecoon does not. Highlight the question where it already is, or press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + S and drag over it, and the answer arrives beside your work with every step shown.

How it works

1

Find the question

Any page: a worksheet PDF, a practice set, a textbook scan, a problem your teacher pasted into a doc.

2

Select it or snap it

Highlight text and the raccoon pill appears next to it. For diagrams, images, and PDFs, use the shortcut and drag a box.

3

Read the working

The answer comes first, then the steps that produced it, so you can check where your own attempt went wrong.

What it handles

Math through calculus

Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trig, probability, derivatives, integrals, and the word problems that hide them.

Science with units

Physics, chemistry, and biology questions, carried through with the units attached instead of bare numbers.

Reading and writing

Comprehension questions, thesis feedback, grammar checks, and what a passage is actually arguing.

Code assignments

Read an error, trace a loop, or find out why the recursion never terminates.

Anything in a language you do not read

Translate the question first, answer it second, both in one pass.

Follow-ups

Pro adds follow-up questions on any answer: explain it simpler, show every step, give me a similar one.

A real one, worked out

This is the shape of every answer: the result first, then the reasoning that got there.

Question

A bag holds 4 red and 6 blue marbles. Two are drawn without replacement. P(both red)?

Answer

2/15, about 13.3%

Steps

  1. 1First draw: 4 red out of 10 marbles, so P = 4/10.
  2. 2The marble is not replaced, so the bag now holds 3 red out of 9.
  3. 3Second draw: P = 3/9.
  4. 4Multiply the two dependent events: 4/10 x 3/9 = 12/90.
  5. 5Simplify: 12/90 = 2/15, which is about 13.3%.

Without replacement is the whole question. Replace the marble and the answer becomes 4/10 x 4/10 = 4/25.

What it will not do

  • It will not sit in an exam, a graded quiz, or a proctored test with you.
  • It will not read your whole screen. Only the region you draw a box around leaves your machine.
  • It will not pretend to be certain. When a screenshot is too cropped to read, it asks for more instead of guessing.
  • It will not write an essay you can hand in as your own work.

Solvecoon is a study aid, not an answer machine. Exams, graded quizzes, and proctored tests are off limits — see the acceptable use policy.

Questions people ask

Do I have to retype the question?
No. That is the point of the extension. Highlight the text where it sits, or draw a box around a diagram, and Solvecoon reads it from the page.
Is it free?
Five solves every day are free, with the step-by-step working included and seven days of history. Pro raises that to 150 a day under fair use, adds follow-up questions and unlimited history, and costs $4.99 a week or $69.99 a year.
Does it work on PDFs and images?
Yes. If it renders in your browser tab, the snap shortcut can capture it. Selecting text is faster when the text is real text; snapping covers everything else.
Will my teacher be able to tell?
Solvecoon is built to be used the way a tutor is used: to understand the work, not to hand in someone else. It shows the reasoning first so you can reproduce it yourself. Using it on graded or proctored assessments breaks our acceptable use policy.
