- 1Find the molar mass of NaCl from the periodic table.
- 2Na is 22.99 g/mol and Cl is 35.45 g/mol.
- 3Molar mass = 22.99 + 35.45 = 58.44 g/mol.
- 4Mass = moles x molar mass = 0.25 mol x 58.44 g/mol.
- 5Mass = 14.61 g, which rounds to 14.6 g at three significant figures.
The units cancel on purpose: mol x g/mol leaves grams. If your units do not cancel, the formula is upside down.

Balance first. Every stoichiometry answer built on an unbalanced equation is wrong.
