For students

Built for the
tabs you study in.

Students do not work in one app. They work across a course page, a PDF, a slide deck, a shared doc, and a forum thread, all at once. An extension is the only shape of tool that lives in all of them, which is why Solvecoon is one.

How it works

1

Install and pin

One click from the Chrome Web Store. Pin the raccoon so the side panel is one click away.

2

Work the way you already do

Select on text, snap on everything else, and read the answers in the panel next to your work.

3

Come back to your history

Everything you solved is in the side panel and on your dashboard, so revision is not a re-search.

What it handles

Reading week

Summarize a chapter into revision points, then ask it to test you on them.

Problem sets

Worked solutions with the steps, so you can find your own error rather than restart.

Sources you cannot read

Translate a paper or a page, then ask questions about it in your language.

Group chat questions

The screenshot someone posted with no transcription, read straight from the image.

Writing

Grammar, tone, and structure feedback on your own draft, not a draft written for you.

Free every day

Five solves daily on the free plan, which resets, with no card required.

A real one, worked out

This is the shape of every answer: the result first, then the reasoning that got there.

Question

Summarize this abstract: We examine whether spaced repetition outperforms massed practice in undergraduate biology, across two cohorts and one semester.

Answer

It tests whether spacing study out beats cramming, in real biology courses over one term.

Steps

  1. 1Identify the question being asked: spaced repetition versus massed practice.
  2. 2Identify the population: undergraduate biology students, two cohorts.
  3. 3Identify the scope: one semester, so short-term rather than long-term retention.
  4. 4State the limitation the abstract implies: two cohorts is small, so treat the effect size carefully.
  5. 5One-line version: spacing versus cramming, tested in a real course, over one term.

Summaries that keep the scope and the limits are the ones worth putting in your notes. A summary without them will mislead you in the essay.

What it will not do

  • It will not be used in exams, graded quizzes, or proctored assessments.
  • It will not write an assignment for you to submit as your own work.
  • It will not request access to every site you visit, your tabs, or your history.
  • It will not always be right. Check the reasoning, which is why the reasoning is shown.

Solvecoon is a study aid, not an answer machine. Exams, graded quizzes, and proctored tests are off limits — see the acceptable use policy.

Questions people ask

Is this allowed at my school?
Policies differ, and you are responsible for yours. Solvecoon is designed as a study aid: understanding your work, checking your working, revising. Using it in exams or on graded assessments breaks our own acceptable use policy as well as most school ones.
How much does it cost as a student?
Free for five solves a day. Pro is $4.99 a week or $69.99 a year, which works out to about $1.35 a week.
Does it work on my school's course site?
It works on whatever page you are on, because it operates on your screen rather than integrating with a platform.
What data does it collect?
Your account, your solves, and your usage counts. Screenshots are discarded by default, and the extension does not read your tabs, cookies, or browsing history.
